FUJITSU STYLISTIC Q550

“Atom-basis tablet for Windows lover. Equipped with comfortable screen, managed with Stylus”.

Changing habit from using Windows in computer to Android or iOS in tablet needs time. If you long for tablet with system you commonly used, Fujitsu product might be the answer. This tablet uses Windows 7 as its system, but it doesn’t mean that it made its dimension and design as fat as laptop.

Its design is very trim. Pure but elegant. There is soft texture around its body, so it won’t be slippery to be grabbed. Its screen texture is not slippery, so when it’s managed using stylus, you’d feel scratching pen on a paper, not glass. Its corners are round, so it would be comfortable in your palm. And even with 4-cells battery, its weight doesn’t even reach 907 grams. Q550 is very comfortable to be grabbed in hand, lighter than iPad or HTC Flayer.

Matte touch in screen with 160 degrees viewpoint and backlight 400 nits provides attractive appearance in most lighting situation, including outside room. Its resolution is very good in 1280 x 800 pixels. Behind its skin, this product adopted SSD 62GB and 4-cell battery which is able to provide active period to 8 hours. Sleep and resume process happens in a second, followed by almost instantly re-connection to WiFi (802.11abgn) or Bluetooth 3.0.

Its Dual digitizer provides multi-touch and active pen input, such as in HTC Flayer. Tablet also need firmer pressure to trigger click. Outside it, quality of both digitizer is similar. Pen Q550 is powered by battery. No slot in tablet to store stylus, but it’s tied with the tablet with a thin rope.

Unfortunately, all these great features only supported by processor Intel Atom Z670 1,5GHz. For some activities, this processor is made this tablet as advanced as its competitors. To run HD video, this device is less suitable, since Flash-basis short video can be only played in embedded size, not full screen.

Its complement features are quite great. There’s SD card slot and one USB port, which should be standard minimum requirement for Windows Tablet. There’s also Smart Card slot and fingerprint reader, while headphone jack and HDML port are provided for entertainment (and work). Docking port and AC port are placed below the tablet.

Fujita provides a launcher application to help user managing Windows 7 faster. This Launcher is quite easy to be launched from taskbar, but it offers some functionality for what can be added in taskbar and desktop. The device is also equipped by two cameras.
