    Xperia Ray targeting users who care about aesthetic and classy appearance. Besides, its physical shape is smaller and slimmer compared with general Android smartphone which published several months before. To keep the appearance, SE uses anti-scratch mineral glass as front part protector material.

    Xperia Ray screen has 3.3 inches size. But although it’s small, the resolution provided doesn’t change, still 854x480 so Ray screen sharpness is far better because of the higher pixels density (about 297 ppi vs 233 ppi in Arc). The Ray screen sharpness effect could be felt, moreover if you view photos or watch video. Xperia Ray is also equipped with Mobile Bravia Engine, an additional feature to raise contrast, saturation, also do noise reduction, so the photo / video would be more attractive and “kicking”. However, this MBE doesn’t always give positive effect (especially for photo). When viewing photo in this device and PC, you’ll see the difference. Photo in smartphone seems better than in PC. But you’ll enjoy the video broadcast in its 16:9 format screen. It because MBE helps to give certain experience so it would be quite satisfied.

    In addition of MBE, other feature brought by Ray is Exmor-R camera sensor by SONY. By 8 megapixels ability, Xperia Ray camera is able to catch more light compared with other smartphone camera. Technically, Ray camera has lens opening f/2.4 and it’s able to raise sensitivity (ISO) to 2000 when the condition get darker. As digital camera principle (higher ISO, more noise), it’s also happened in Ray camerawork in less light condition. The picture is far clearer, but you cannot avoid noise spread in almost all of the pictures.

    From specification side, Ray is not far different with other Xperia. it still uses Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 1 GHz chip, this device can run all activity smoothly.
